Synopsis

“Examination of Conscience” aims to provide a forum for reflection on the real extent of abuse within the Church in Spain, a reality that has long been hidden by a heavy cloak of silence. By using the main testimony of Miguel Ángel Hurtado, a victim who kept his case silent for 18 years and is currently working as an activist, the series gives a voice to victims, clergy, researchers and also a pedophile to understand the complexity and scope of this authentic social scourge involving thousands of victims and abusers. Miguel Ángel’s final revelation will shake one of the major pillars of Spanish Catholicism.
