After six years of receiving no news from Francisco del Pueblo, otherwise known as “Paco”, I came across a full-page photograph of him in the Sunday supplement of the newspaper El País : Paco had been arrested in Pakistan with 12 kilos of heroin and sent to a prison in Karachi. Now converted to Islam, he awaits sentence: in the best of cases, life imprisonment. Paco, now Abdullah, is the only Spanish prisoner in Pakistan, but is one of many Western prisoners in jails throughout the world for drug trafficking. Through his epic life we plan to tell a universal story, that of "mules" who sacrifice their lives for the hope of getting rich quickly. In the way we'll see how is generated drug traffic and how narcotics agencies of each country struggle against it, like ANSF in Pakistan.
